Gushing. Tim McGraw was #RelationshipGoals when he wished wife Faith Hill happy birthday on Instagram, calling her “extraordinary.”

Happy birthday to this crazy, talented, beautiful woman. I am so lucky to be married to and be with her for the rest of my life. The best mother and role model that my 3 daughters could possibly have. She is extraordinary!!

What’s out:

Brangelina. In one of the biggest (and saddest) stories of the week, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. Jennifer Aniston memes quickly followed suit.

What’s in:

Pitch. Batter up! The premiere of Fox’s new series about the (fictional) first woman to play Major League baseball was—dare we say it?—a home run.

What’s out:

Thomas Gibson’s goodwill. Following his firing last month for kicking a writer, the Criminal Minds actor says the show is “trying to erase” him. This gives new meaning to the show’s designation as a drama, no?

What’s in:

Fall, y’all. Praise be, the autumn equinox occurred on Thursday. The momentous occasion signals autumn in the northern hemisphere, hopefully ushering in the kind of weather conducive to chunky scarves and pumpkin spice everything.

What’s out:

Google’s greenery. For some inexplicable reason, the formerly mint-green spaces in Google maps used to denote national forests have all gone gray.

A tribute to twang. Iconic country singers from Vince Gill to Dolly Parton and everyone in between (Blake! Carrie! Miranda! Little Big Town!) joined forces for an epic “Forever Country” music video mash-up honor of the 50th Annual CMA Awards.

What’s out:

Christmas in the country. Halloween isn’t even here yet, but that hasn’t stopped stars like Kacey Musgraves and Jennifer Nettles from debuting their yuletide albums.

Sustainable and affordable fashion. Zara, a brand known for its trendy styles and budget-friendly price-tags, launched its first sustainable capsule line … and it’s kind of fantastic.

What’s out:

American Apparel’s CEO. Paula Schneider, who helped turned the tides for the popular retail brand last year, stepped down in the midst of the company being sold. No tears here—American Apparel’s practice of sexualizing child models has had the company on our “no-buy” list for a long time.

Last chance tourism. Scientists are calling this trend of trying to “see it before it’s gone”—think the Great Barrier Reef or Yellowstone National Park—paradoxical, since droves of people contribute to destruction.

What’s in:

Anne of Green Gables. Not only is this classic tale coming to Netflix soon as a series, but PBS just announced they’ll be airing a new Anne of Green Gables movie come Thanksgiving night. Just another thing to be grateful for, eh?

What’s in:

Listeria. No, really—it’s in an alarmingly large number of foods that were just added to the potentially contaminated list. This calls for a moment of silence for Blue Bell ice cream.

What’s out:

Antibiotics in food. For only the fourth time in history, the United Nations has elevated a health issue to crisis level. The fact that the issue is antibiotics in our food is unnerving, to say the least.
